What is Life Anonymous?

What We Are & What We Aren't...
Life Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problems and help others to live a happier Life.

Only You Can Decide...
If you seem to be experiencing certain troubles in your life regarding financial insecurity, love, family or spirituality, you may be interested in knowing something about Life Anonymous, the program of life recovery. This is a simple way of life that has been set in place for anybody who wants it, needs it and does it. In the LA program, the word Life is used as the encompassing term that blankets all things we are powerless over, people places and things. Everyone is welcome to join this fellowship.

More About The Program...
In all 12 step programs, the members of the group always share a common problem. It was that common problem that initially caused one to join a twelve step program. But once that obsession had been lifted, men and women alike discovered it was just a symptom of a greater problem. What most people found regardless of the program they were in, was that at the root of all of their troubles were fear based thoughts, desires run awry and a lack of acceptance to what they were completely powerless over. It would reqqire a process of self searching, leveling of pride, and confession of one's shortcomings for a successful consummation. Something almost no one wanted to do. But they had seen how it worked in others and how they had come to believe in the hopelessness and futility of Life as they had been living it. When therefore, they were approached by those in whom the problem had been solved, there was nothing left for them to do but pick up the simple kit of spiritual tools laid at their feet. They described it as finding much ofHeaven and being rocketed into the fourth dimension of existence of which they had never dreamed. This type of spiritual experience was not limited to addicts and alcoholics only, it was available for anybody that wanted it. The 12 steps are a set of spiritual principles that can be followed by anyone that wants to live a happier life. In the book, the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, it states, the Twelve Steps are a group of principles, spiritual in their nature, which, if practiced as a way oflife, can expel any obsession and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole. It goes on to say, many people, nonalcoholics, report that as a result of the practice of the Twelve Steps, they have been able to meet other difficulties oflife. They think that the Twelve Steps can mean more than sobriety for addicts and alcoholics. They see in them a way to happy and effective living for many, alcoholic or not. In all 12 step programs, the first step is "We admitted we were powerless over (alcohol, drugs, food, sex, gambling, etc) and that our lives had become unmanageable". In Life Anonymous the first step is "We admitted we were powerless over Life and that our lives had become unmanageable". This encompasses everything and allows everyone to take advantage of a way of life that has been helping millions of people for nearly 100 years.

Will LA Work For Everyone?
The LA program will work for anyone who has a desire to be happier and free of Fear in their life. This program is not a substitute for any other program as some people may need to seek outside help in addition too. If someone suffers from Alcoholism, drug addiction or any other type of physical or chemical dependency, they might need to attend that particular fellowship for more specific help. Everyone has their own experiences but it was found that pain was the great motivator regarding someone wanting to change their current circumstances. One might come into the program in great pain from a loss of a loved one, job or relationship. But regardless of whether someone is suffering greatly or just might have the desire to experience a Higher Power and achieve more out of life, Life Anonymous and the 12 steps will work for anybody.
